Tomorrow, Attorney Jonathan Ross will attend American Bar Association's ABA Day in Washington D.C. Jon and his fellow ABA members will be visiting the NH delegation and urge full funding for The Legal Services Corporation that provides funds for the delivery of legal services to those unable to afford them. In NH this is for the Lawyer Advice and Referral Center and the NHBA Pro Bono Program. They will also lobby for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness legislation that forgives federal student loans for lawyers who work in public service jobs for ten years. This program impacts legal service lawyers, public defenders, and prosecutors, etc. Tomorrow night, the ABA will honor NH Sen. Shaheen with an award at a dinner for her support of the Department of Justice Legal Orientation Program. The program assists in legal rights presentations and pro bono referrals for detained immigrants in removal proceedings. Also, the Senator’s many efforts to ensure due process and other protections for immigrants and refugees in our country will be recognized tomorrow evening.

Jon has been going to DC for this work for about 20+ years and currently serves on the ABA Day in DC Committee.
