Ryan J. Mazalatis
Chris has practiced law in New Hampshire for over twelve years, with a primary focus on estate planning, estate administration, and tax planning for families and businesses.
In this capacity, he prepares wills, power of attorney instruments, healthcare power of attorney and advance directive instruments, LLC agreements and other business formation documents, and a wide variety of trusts designed for purposes such as avoiding the probate of assets, optimizing tax advantages, charitable giving, holding assets for clients with special needs, planning for long term care, maintaining assets over the course of generations, and governing the management of assets per specific terms desired by the client. He is also experienced in matters including the resolution of real estate title issues, negotiating and structuring domestic and international business transactions, representing clients in adoption and guardianship matters, disability advocacy, legal name and gender recognition changes, and a broad range of tax advising for business, individuals and families.
Chris appreciates that a thoughtful and carefully drafted estate plan is one of the last ways people can say “I love you” to those who matter most to them. He enjoys working with clients in a warm, empathetic and convivial environment, learning about their lives and desired legacies, and creating thorough, bespoke plans that address each client’s unique desires and requirements. Chris also enjoys demystifying complex (at first glance) bodies of law for his clients and ensuring the plans he creates are easy to understand and user-friendly.
Following a death, Chris guides clients through the probate administration process. If you are the named executor, executrix or administrator of a deceased person’s will, or the Trustee of an active Trust, Chris can walk you through the estate or trust administration process, whether or not the estate or trust was prepared by him or this firm.
As of today, Chris’ clients range in age from 18 to 99 and encompass a rich diversity of social, economic, racial, cultural and religious backgrounds, gender and gender identities, romantic and sexual orientations, family statuses, political affiliations, physical and affective medical conditions, and favorite sports teams. He proudly represents members and veterans of the United States Armed Forces and his practice includes navigating the web of veteran benefits and preparing for deployments.
