Christopher J. Nelson
As a member of the Firm’s Healthcare Law team, Jacob supports healthcare providers in delivering high-quality patient care by helping them navigate complex regulatory frameworks and reduce administrative burdens that can otherwise divert attention from their patients. As a native Vermonter raised in Springfield, he naturally understands the challenges facing medical providers in the Green Mountain State.
Jacob advises and assists providers in matters involving compliance, certificates of need, medical staff affairs, professional licensure, reimbursement, contracts, and governance. He works to balance providers’ commercial objectives with the regulatory requirements that shape their operations.
Prior to joining Primmer, Jacob served as a staff attorney for the Department of Vermont Health Access and as the regulatory compliance officer for Norwich University’s Graduate Programs. In these roles, he gained extensive experience managing legal teams and guiding clients through a broad range of healthcare compliance issues.
Jacob received his B.S. from the University of Maine at Orono and his J.D. from Vermont Law School, where he served as an editor for the Vermont Journal of Environmental Law.
