John Monson has been practicing as a corporate attorney since 1966, serving as counsel for national, publicly owned, and local companies on matters ranging from complex mergers and acquisitions to business succession planning. As one of two founders of the Tax Section of the New Hampshire Bar Association, he is widely considered one of New Hampshire’s top advisers on taxation issues. John combines his corporate and tax practice with work on complicated family trust and probate issues for individuals and families. In this context, he also serves as Trustee for numerous family trusts overseeing their administration and investments. John served for five years as General Counsel and Secretary for a NASDAQ-listed company, where he oversaw a business plan that vertically integrated the company’s operations, from producing raw materials for its products, manufacturing the products and then retailing the products to the public.

This process involved approximately twenty mergers, or asset purchases of, targets located all over the eastern United States.
