Since 2002, Randy Wachsmann has advised clients on the formation and ongoing corporate and regulatory representation of pure captive insurance companies, group captive insurance companies, special purpose financial captive insurance companies and sponsored captives/protected cells. He has extensive experience working with group captives, including reciprocals and risk retention groups. Randy draws upon broad experience in diverse industry sectors to provide creative solutions to clients, often identifying issues that may be common to one type/industry sector of captive that could be used by or may benefit another. He regularly counsels clients on a wide range of issues associated with captives, including pre-formation planning, regulatory matters, transfer and assumption of insurance liabilities, dissolution and liquidation. Randy also advises clients about reinsurance transactions with fronting carriers and the commercial reinsurance market.
