Primmer Announces New Managing Director for 2024
Primmer Piper Eggleston & Cramer is pleased…
Shireen has been practicing law in Vermont for nearly thirty years, with her primary focus on health law. As the senior healthcare attorney, Shireen and her team represent all types of health-related entities, such as Hospitals, Designated Agencies, Special Services Agencies, Long Term Care Facilities, Home Health Agencies, Professional Associations, Vendors, and Individual Clinicians and Practices. The team's services run the gamut of what our clients experience, with a dedication to responsiveness and full coverage. Hospital and other facility clients do not go on vacation, so the ability to be accessible at key times is paramount.
Shireen's individual focus is on Compliance, Certificates of Need, Medical Staff Matters, Professional Licensure, Reimbursement Issues, Contract and Employment Matters, and Governance, with a focus on Non-profit Law. The Healthcare team frequently has matters pending before the Green Mountain Care Board, the Vermont Board of Medical Practice, the Office of Professional Regulation, Vermont's Medicaid Fraud and Residential Abuse Unit, and the Department of Vermont Health Access.
Shireen has built a strong team of professionals who have spent years working at other healthcare entities before joining Primmer, allowing the team to benefit from colleagues' invaluable boots-on-the-ground experience in the field.
Of her decision to practice HealthCare Law, Shireen notes, "I was attracted to practice health law in Vermont because of the clients we serve. They are devoted to their patients, their community members, their staff, and their missions. Beyond the practice of law, I like to engage with and serve my local and state-wide communities through non-profit leadership opportunities. I am honored to be serving currently on both the Burlington Business Association and the Vermont Chamber of Commerce Boards, along with the ECHO, Leahy Center for Lake Champlain Board of Directors. I am particularly proud to be an Honorary Board member of KidSafe Collaborative after having serving on their board. My mother is no longer with us, but she modeled being an engaged community member, and I am doing my best to follow in her footsteps."
