The New Hampshire Financial Responsibility Act: An Amendment That Reaches Across Borders

Since at least 1958, it has been clear that the New Hampshire Financial Responsibility Act does not apply to accidents that occur outside of New Hampshire. However, a July 2021 amendment to RSA 264:18 appears to have changed that rule and broadened the reach of the statute.

Update: FinCEN Issues Proposed Regulations Implementing the Corporate Transparency Act

Last month, FinCEN issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) implementing the BOI reporting provisions of the CTA. Under the proposed regulations, every foreign or domestic legal entity that qualifies as a "reporting company" would be required to file reports with FinCEN that identify the beneficial owners of the entity as well as the individuals who have filed to form or register the entity.
